Landshut - A Romantic Place in Germany

Landshut is a historic city straddling the beautiful River Isar in Bavarian, southern Germany. It is known for its ancient Trappist Castle, with its spectacular views across the city. In the castle itself is the Stokmark Hall, dating back to the Middle Ages.

Further up in the town are the St. Maria Church, which was built by the order of the Franciscan order in the late Middle Ages; and the Gothic St. Martin's Church. Both of these places are open to visitors and give a good insight into Landshut's medieval past. Other sights to visit are the Germania Museum, featuring paintings of German emperors and queens, and the Stauffenberg Gardens, which have beautiful garden paths.
