Friedrichshafen Downtown - An Experience of Air Travel With a Twist

Friedrichshafen, otherwise known as Friedrichstadt, is a small city located on Lake Constance in northern Germany. It is known for its significant contribution in the aviation history, widely documented in the Zeppelin museum. Cafes dot the lakeside promenade, which can be reached by car.

The Zeppelin museum is housed in a former church of St. Nicholas in Friedrichshafen. The Tower Church, as it is also called, is well-preserved with all of its historical features. Visitors are not allowed to enter the church, however. Instead, they are allowed to tour the church's interior, from one room to another, seeing the rich tapestries, stained glass windows, mosaics and decorations. There is also an observation tower on a nearby pier that provides aerial views of the surrounding area.

To get to Friedrichshafen, the only way to reach it is by train or a Zeppelin tour. This is especially popular among tourists because traveling by train can be difficult at times. It is not always safe, especially during high winds, especially for tourists with no prior experience traveling by train. The best option is to rent a vehicle for the trip, which is also cheaper. Touring by vehicle does, however, require you to check in ahead of time so that you can pick up your luggage when it is time to leave the vehicle.

Zeppelin rides in Friedrichshafen are very popular, particularly with younger people who want to experience flight without the hassle of airports and long lines at ticket counters. The ride starts in a station, similar to a train station, on a narrow pedestrian bridge known as The Stellwagen. After taking a seat on the platform, you take a right turn, then a left turn, before finally reaching a junction that will take you into the town proper. In Friedrichshopf is a row of buildings, including the city's parliament building and other important landmarks, including the Reichstag building. and its parliament building.

One of the more popular routes taken on a Zeppelin tour is to take it around the top of Lake Constance, taking in sights such as the Stellwagen. As the plane flies over the town, passengers can see the tower and the surrounding countryside. From there, it turns left over a river to pass through a village, the Scharnhorstsee. The zeppelin then makes a turn back towards its starting point and heads back down towards the lake. You will then take a turn to the left, heading to Friedrichshafen's downtown area.

Before leaving the ground, you will need to sign up to be on a special tour of Friedrichshafen known as the "Wandering Zeppelin". A visit to the site of the first Zeppelin flight in 1699 is included in this tour, and the view is breathtaking. After touring the site of the historic zeppelin, you then descend to the bottom of the Stellwagen to land and take a ride on one of its smaller, non-pressurized airships. The tour concludes by visiting the Zeppelin museum. While visiting the museum, make sure to stop for dinner on your return flight and enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the scenery.
