A Guide to Germany

Many of Germany's sights date back to the later Roman occupation of the area, and are unique to a place in Germany no matter where you go. The largest of these sights is Trier, an important city on the Rhine River. One of its most beautiful sights, the Porta Nigra, is an ancient Roman city gate built around the second century. It is one of the oldest historical sites in Europe.

The city was a major port and a major city of Italy, and many of its sights and artifacts are related to this history. The most famous and well-known is the Duisburg Gate, but Trier is not the only place to see a Roman-era gate. You can visit the nearby Cologne Cathedral, also named after Cologne, a city near the Rhine River where a large number of German soldiers were killed by the Goths during the early eighth century. The walls and gates of Cologne Cathedral have been decorated with paintings, sculptures, and wall hangings.

Trier is not just a major medieval city, but also a medieval town. Many people who come to Trier will be able to see the remains of old buildings and churches that date to before the fourteenth century. There are a number of museums and theaters that feature medieval items. These include the Castle Church, the Hall of Honor, and the Holy City Church.

Most of Trier's beautiful buildings were destroyed during World War II, so you may find some of these buildings completely destroyed. Fortunately, Trier has restored a number of these buildings, and some remain standing. Some of these buildings include the castle church of Reutlingen, which were destroyed by a German bomb while it was being occupied by the Nazis, as well as the Castle Schloss Bauatz, which were the headquarters of the Nazi governor. There are many other castles and churches that are still in use today.

This is another important landmark in Trier. The Church of St. Martin is considered the world's oldest Gothic church. It was established during the tenth century. Its main structure dates from the tenth century and is made up of three stories and seven sides. At least two of the sides of this church are covered with stone slabs of more than a hundred and fifty thousand years old.

There are many other attractions for people who wish to experience a historical tour of Germany, and one of the best is Trier. The city is not just a historic landmark; it is also a city filled with shopping, dining, and night life. In fact, many visitors come here just to spend the night.
